House with Window

A complete Title 24 report includes:

  • Certificate of Compliance (CF-1R)
  • Mandatory Measures Summary (MF-1R)
  • HVAC Sizing Report
  • Upon Request, Any Appropriate Installation Certificates to Be Completed By the Installer

Using your plans (electronic or paper copy), a report is prepared that demonstrates compliance with Title 24. For any location in California, either a prescriptive approach (a predefined set of measures) or the performance approach (computer model of the building) can be used. The method is determined by the building’s features and what best serves the clients needs.

What’s needed for a new home:

  1. A set of plans (floor plan, site plan, elevations, sections, roof plan).
  2. Whether natural gas is available, and if not, will propane be used.
  3. If known, the type of heating / cooling equipment (such as central heat or a wall furnace).
  4. If known, the type of water heating equipment (such as gas – storage of 50 gallons or gas – tankless).
  5. If known, the brand of windows.

What's needed for an addition or alteration:

  1. A set of plans, which includes a floor plan, a demo floor plan (if needed to show pre-construction conditions) and a site plan (or accurate North arrow on the floor plan). This depends on the specifics of the work, elevations, sections and roof plan.
  2. Year the home was originally built.
  3. Specifics about any previous additions / home improvements.
  4. Proposed features of the new construction (see items two through five above).
